Abstract

Fuzzy logic controller has been developed to overcome speed control problem for induction motor. Some of these problems are to determine membership function and appropriate rule base to desired control. Tabu Search optimization technique can be used to overcome the problems on fuzzy logic controller in order for its rule base to tune it automatically when a change in load on motor induction occur.

Tabu search method can force rule based fuzzy logic controller to tune itself which is used on tuning the speed of induction motor and the performance result for the system shows maximum overshoot less than 2%, settling time less than 2 seconds, rise time less than 2 seconds and error steady state less than 2 %
