Prototype Patient Tracking System Rfid-Based Mental Hospital

Abstract

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a identification technology system of radio waves based in the process of identification is not required direct contact between the reader device and, the identified object (transponder).

This research was conducted to know how to design a RFID systems that works on windows operating system with middleware developed with Visual Basic language. This RFID system design refers to the SDLC method (Systems Development Life Cycle) with a prototype method use at development and documentation stage.

The RFID system prototype designing using omnikey 5321 RFID reader and MIFARE 1 K RFID tag, which includes: operating procedures of data on RFID tags, midleware connection to the network, midleware connection to database and RFID systemssecurity procedures. System applied at Mental Hospital management Case with midleware and databases that are designed in accordance with Mental Hospital Management case where the system used for tracking position and patient identification
